Student Travel Awards


To encourage student travel to the AMLC’s 39th Scientific Meeting in the Dominican Republic: the Board of Directors has allocated travel funds for students. The purpose of the AMLC Travel Fund is to defray the cost of travel and housing. Travel awards are not meant to cover the cost of Registration. Awards will be based on need, taking into account other forms of support and distance traveled. The awards will vary between US$100 and US$500. This award can ONLY be used for attending the AMLC meeting being held in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic in May 2019.


To be eligible for the AMLC Travel Award; applicants must register for the meeting and submit an abstract for a poster or oral presentation. Applicants must be enrolled full time at a degree-granting university/college and a letter of support from the student’s academic advisor is required. Letters from Advisors must be mailed directly from the advisor’s email address and must confirm:
  1. the full time enrollment status of the student, and
  2. the amount of monetary support the student is receiving to attend the conference.

Postdoctoral fellows are NOT eligible for these awards.

  4. Awards will be announced on April 1, 2019.


Awards will be distributed via Paypal after students register at the meeting venue desk in Punta Cana. If there are problems with Paypal disbursement, the student will receive a check. Checks are in US$ from a US bank.
